Upgrade Peptide Chained Presets

With the Spooky2 Peptide begin updates weekly, and with many of the old programs getting updated too, it become quite unwieldy to rebuild all your old peptide chained preset to get the latest frequencies. This article describes an online tool to upgrade your peptide chained presets to the latest version.

The link for the online tool is here: Upgrade Peptide Chained Presets.

For your peptide chains with only peptide presets inside, this utility will do a complete job. Any custom modifications to the settings will be preserved. If your chained preset contains any non-peptide presets, those non-peptide preset will be left untouched.

If you created a preset with JW_Peptides.csv, this preset will be converted into a chained preset with the peptide programs you chose, but instead of using programs, you now have a chained preset of peptide presets. Any non-peptide program is left untouched. If you added the same set of peptides multiple times for added effect in your JW_Peptide.csv preset, the duplicates will be discarded. However, in the ChainEditor, it is easy to duplicate presets inside the chain using copy/paste.

When you first come to the Upgrade Chained Preset page, you will see that the Chained Preset field has No file chosen.

Click on the Choose File button next to the Chained Preset label to select a preset file. The name of this button is browser-specific. It is called Browse on other browsers. After selecting a file, you will see the file name beside the button.

Click on the Choose File button next to the ZIP File label to select a zip file that contains chained presets. Using this option, you can convert and entire folder of chained presets. Put your chained presets into a folder in the Windows File Explorer. Then click on the folder, press the right mouse button to bring up the context sensitive menu, click Send To and then click Compressed (zipped) folder on Windows 10. On Windows 11, click Compress To and then choose ZIP File.

If you use both the Choose File options, the upgrader will only upgrade the ZIP File.

You can specify peptides to remove using the Remove Peptides Containing text field. This field contains a list of peptides you do NOT want in your chained preset, separated by a comma.

There is an option called Flatten, which will remove all the Base Presets in the chained preset. This will allow the new chained presets to run on an older Spooky system without JW Peptides installed. This new preset will run on a Spooky 20221103 or newer.

The second option is called Remove Duplicate Peptides. If ticked, this will cause the updated chained presets to have all the duplicate peptides throughout the entire chain removed. This can result in a significant runtime saving, perhaps in the range of a 25% or more time saving of running the entire chain. If you decide after a while that you don’t want the duplicates removed, you can send your new preset with duplicates removed, untick the Remove Duplicate Peptides checkbox, and Upgrade the preset. Your duplicate peptides will return.

The third option is called Upgrade Preset Notes. It ticked, your new preset will have the latest preset notes for the peptide. Do not choose this option if you have edited your preset notes, as the preset notes will be overwritten.

After you click the Update button, hopefully, you will see a message in green in saying that your preset will download shortly. Your preset will appear in the Downloads folder in the Windows File Explorer.

There is a log of the edits made, attached to the end of your Preset Notes. In the following example, I used GHK,BPC-157,TB-500,Glutathione in the Remove Peptides Containing text field, and ticked the Remove Duplicate Peptides checkbox. This resulted in the Edit Log in the end of the Preset Notes.
