In an earlier post Low Power Terrain Presets, you could download presets for a low power Terrain protocol preset, which is useful for people who are too sensitive to bear the detox and herxing that they experience with the normal Terrain protocol preset. Using ChainEditor, you will learn how you can make your own low power preset with the Amplitude that works best for you.

If you haven’t already, If you haven’t already, install ChainEditor as described in Installing ChainEditor. Double-click the ChainEditorTool icon on the desktop to start ChainEditor.

First we want to load up the factor Terrain (R) – BY preset. Inside ChainEditor‘s File menu, choose the Open… menu item.

When the Open Dialog appears, your are in the directory you last opened or saved a chained preset document. Initially, you start in the User folder inside of Preset Collections. Click the Preset Collections link (circled in red below) to navigate to that folder.

At this point, double-click the Detox folder, then double-click the Remote folder. The double-click Terrain (R) – BY.txt.

At this point you have a ChainEditor window filled with the contents of the Terrain (R) – BY preset.

Now click one of the presets inside the Presets listbox, and go to the Edit menu and choose the Select All menu command. Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut Control-A.

Now click on the Signal tab, and change the Amplitude for Out 1 and Out 2 from 5 volts down to 2.5 volts.

I might also want to add a preset note for this new preset. By clicking on the Notes tab, I can see the Notes for the currently selected presets on the left. Since all the Notes are selected, if I add a note now, all those presets will get the same note. However, this is not necessary, and instead I will just add a note to the first preset. I do this by clicking on the top preset of the Preset list box, and then typing my note.

In the File menu, click on Save As… to open the Save As dialog. Note that you are currently in the Presets Collections > Detox > Remote folder. Click on Preset Collections to navigate to the Preset Collections folder. Then double-click User to open the User folder. The Save As dialog is shown below.

After I arrive in the User folder, I type a new name, in this case 4. Terrain 2.5V (R), and click the Save button.

Now in the Spooky² Presets tab, I click on the Go to User directory button (circled in red below), and I see my new preset 4. Terrain 2.5V (R).

If I click on the Settings tab of Spooky², I see that the Amplitude is indeed 2.5V.
